Emily Bornoff is an Illustrator, Book Designer and Printed Textile Designer. from London, UK. She recently gained a Distinction for her Masters Degree in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
She loves colour, and experiments with mark making and pattern. Emily creates all of her work either by painting her subject matter or using various forms of printmaking, and then combines everything digitally at the very end. Taking inspiration from her travels, world around her, mid-Century Illustration and textiles, amongst other wondrous things.
Her first picture book, 'Where did they Go?' was published by Big Picture Press. A book that looks at endangered species around the world, and provokes children to think about them, whilst trying to spot them throughout the book. Emily has since worked on many projects with publishers such as Quarto, Pan Macmillan and Little Bee books.
Emily has also been an inhouse and freelance book designer for many wonderful publishing houses, such as Usborne, Random House, Pan Macmillan, Farshore, Bonnier, Anderson, and Bloomsbury. She designs prints for textiles for a Studio, and is open to creating commissions for clients too.
She was Longlisted for the WIA in 2025,
